Snow Storm: Many Areas getting 12- 14 inches

of snow over night!  At 4:30am Jan. 27, 2011,

New York City announces

" All New York City Schools are closed."

The Mayor has declared a weather emergency in New York City. Avoid all unnecessary driving during the storm and to the extent possible use public transportation. Any vehicle blocking roadways or in the way of plows will be towed at the owner's expense.

All NYC public schools, non-emergency City government offices, senior centers and libraries are closed today due to the snow. Essential services continue to be provided.

Alternate side parking and meters are suspended.

Garbage and recycling pick-ups are suspended but you should continue to put your items out as usual.
