Ralph E. Smith: It's Been A Long Fight! I Stayed In The Legal Ring and Won! "I am very blessed to have Mr. Norman Siegal as the Captain of my Legal "A" Team. At the end of this legal battle and journey, the New York City Department of Correction was wrong to tell me I could not continue to be the Departmental Photographer because I have a Press Pass and also work as a Reporter. The NYPD was wrong not to renew it. I decided to fight and won! I am happy to have won my case and the settlement with New York City. I have moved on beyond my old position as longest serving NYCD Departmental Photographer with my future goals on my second career in Media and Community Services." (Ralph E. Smith Served 4 NYCD Commissioners and a NYCD STAFF of 10,000) January 10, 2011
