Fights & Wins Press Pass For

Online 21st Century Journalist

March 2, 2010

Days after I saved a man's life on the West Side Highway

by pulling him out of his SUV November 21, 2006 seconds before his car blew up,

I was called a Hero Correction Officer.

Days later I went to renew my press pass

for my work as a reporter and was told I couldn't renew it by the NYPD.

After years of Service to the NYCD, I was told by the NYCD

that I should not have a press pass?

It was time to fight for my rights!!

This Lawsuit has opened up a door for a new wave of Online 21st century journalists.

I am very proud to be represented by our Legal Team and proud of my fellow journalist:

Ralph E. Smith:  It's Been A Long Fight! I Stayed In The Legal Ring and Won!

"I am very blessed to have Mr. Norman Siegal as the Captain of my Legal "A" Team.  At the end of

this legal battle and journey, the New York City Department of Correction was wrong to tell me I could not continue to be the Departmental Photographer because I have a Press Pass and also work as a Reporter.

The NYPD was wrong not to renew it.

I decided to fight and won!  I am happy to have won my case and the settlement with New York City.

I have moved on beyond my old position as longest serving NYCD Departmental Photographer

with my future goals on my second career in Media and Community Services."
